The 3J plate pack always run with 8 active surfaces, even in our lighter settings, giving maximum surfaces and surface area contact during use. Our new pre-load spacer helps generate the pre-load. Rather than just have the 2 or 3 settings of other units, we can 'fine tune' to particular pre-load settings complemented with our choice of ramps, to get the perfect LSD set up for you! The Bevel and planet gear pack has been designed to be the smoothest mesh, biggest and strongest tooth profile that we have ever been involved with. Eliminating the rattle, and excessive back lash of other units. With the added benefit of dual ramps, two in every unit sold.

3J Driveline's plated limited slip differential to suit the ML gearbox typically found in the Peugeot 406 V6 & Turbo models plus many other heavy duty cars and vans (including 6-speeds & diesels).

3J’s core range of plate-type limited slip differentials now fall under the NXG Performance brand. The NXG Performance unit comprises of a super-strong EN24T end plate and houses 3J Driveline's own design of plate pack which always runs with 8 active surfaces, even when set up for the lightest of use, to always give a maximum surface contact area during use.  The bevel and planet gear pack has been designed to give the smoothest mesh, and has the biggest and strongest tooth profile that the transmission experts at 3J Driveline have ever been involved with. This eliminates the rattle and excessive backlash that can be found with other plate-type units.

Plated diffs will increase steering stiffness slightly and cause some driveshaft noise under locking, plate wear over time also means that they will need refreshing with new plates from time to time as the preload drops. We therefore never recommend a plated diff for road use, however they can be if the pros and cons are understood. Different gear oils are recommended for plated diffs when used with synchromesh type gears and dog gears, both of which have friction modifiers added and are different to standard lubricants.

This differential is available with several options of setup:

  • Fast Road: 50/90 Ramps 25-35 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Occasional Track Day:40/90 Ramps 25-35 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Regular Track Day: 40/90 Ramps 35-40 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Long Circuit Race: 40/90 or 30/90 Ramps 65-75 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Short Circuit Race: 40/90 Ramps 50-55 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Sprint / Hillclimb: 40/90 Ramps 60-65 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Rally: 30/90 Ramps 65-80 Lbs/Ft Pre-load
  • Drift:45/45 Ramps 40-50 Lbs/Ft Pre-load

Replacement differential bearings are also available for an additional charge. 

Plate wear will depend on the setup you choose, rebuilds are always undertaken with vast experience of this product.
